ABA Therapy Services
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientific method that helps address behavior excesses, deficits and changes in different contexts. ABA has been shown to be effective for teaching new skills and decreasing challenging behaviors with children with Autism as well as those with diagnoses (e.g., Down Syndrome), acquired a traumatic brain injury or feeding difficulties.
ABA principles can be used to make socially significant changes for an individual by systematically assessing and intervening for their behaviors and skills.
Our Process
Assessment
To begin we start with an initial assessment. This involves speaking with caregivers about the client’s backgound. We will gathering information to give context and to address any concerns or current challenges.
Some additonal information may be needed including:
- IEP Plans
- Psychological Evaluation
- Speech/OT/PT Evaluation
- Previous Functional Behavior Assessments
- Other assements and diagnosis information
Treatment Plan
After completing the assessment we will have a comprehensive insight into our clients current situation. From there we will create an individualized treatment plan to address any behavior excesses or deficits identified.
Our treatment plan will outline the the skills targeted, the methods of treatment and recommendation for hours of serves per week in addition to parent training goals.
Treatment
One on one sessions, group therapy and parent training (described below). The frequency &duration of sessions will be based on availability and the recommend hours based on assessment.
All sessions will be provided by a behavioral therapist trained in ABA therapy under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Parent Training / Support
At the heart of our services is the training & support for our client’s caregivers. Caregivers are encouraged to participate in a variety of ways.
Caregivers are welcome and strongly encouraged to participate in therapy sessions. Specific parent training session with a BCBA are scheduled on a regular basis to help clients generalize their new skills in the home & community.
